Bank employee arrested for child prostitution
NAGOYA -- A bank employee who paid a high school girl to engage in indent behavior with him at a hotel here while on a business trip has been arrested, police said.
Shuhei Jinbo, a Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. employee from Tokyo's Minato-ku, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Law for Punishing Acts Related to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.
Investigators said the 26-year-old worker handed 40,000 yen to a 16-year-old high school girl to engage in obscene behavior with him at a hotel in Nagoya's Nakamura-ku, despite knowing that she was under the age of 18.
Jinbo had stopped at Nagoya while on a business trip to Osaka, and reportedly met the student at a matchmaking establishment near JR Nagoya Station.
Bank officials said Jinbo entered the company in 2004.
"It's extremely regrettable that an employee of our bank has been arrested," a bank public relations official said. "We will deal with the matter strictly after investigating the facts of the case."
